Abstract

Several authors have studied the influence of exercise on the nervous system and cognitive performance in untrained subjects and to different stimuli of exercise using the Flicker Fusion Threshold (UFF). Although the effect on the central nervous system (CNS) of maximum aerobic stimuli is not well studied. This research aims to study changes in UFF before and after a time trial of 30 'on a cycloergometer, to evaluated the fatigue of the CNS.
The sample consisted of nine male subjects (72.1±5.59 kg, 180.3±6.43 cm, 17.4±0.7 years, 14.1±2.69% fat, 22.2±1.65 kg/m2 of BMI, VO2max [ml/kg/min.] 83.24±4.06, VO2max [l]: 5.95±0.53).
A test was conducted of 30 'maximum cycle ergometer. Befrore and after the test, we measured UFF ascending, descending and classic, sensory sensitivity and subjective criteria. Each subject performed the test three times UFF obtaining an average value.
The results show how the UFF increase after the test. With these results we conclude that a maximal of 30 'on a cycle ergometer does not generate fatigue in the central nervous system as the system Flicker Fusion, because UFF does not decrease.
